The last full day, we spent as much time in the pool and on the beach as we could.
We drove to a beach called Sanibel Island. It was almost 2 hours away, but the drive was very pretty and we were able to see some more of Florida that we hadn't seen before.
We heard this beach is good for shelling. So we were excited to find some shells to take back with us. We had a little trek from the parking lot to the beach, and this was probably one of the hottest days we had in Florida.
The ocean was a bit choppy, and we had to work to swim in the ocean. It wasn't as relaxing as it had been earlier in the week.
We found quite a few shells. They were just washed up on shore for us to pick through. I forgot to take a picture of them. HA!
On the way back, we stopped at this shell store. We had to get a picture of its name.
Ten minutes before we got back to Siesta Key, Carson announced that he had to go. We asked if he could wait 10 minutes, and he clearly let us know that No, he could not. So, we quickly pulled over and he was able to go. Of course, I had to get a pic of it. I'm sure he'll kill me for it someday, but it was very funny. This is one time when boys are easier!
We went to dinner here...
The owner of the house we rented recommended it. AND, it was fabulous! Loved it!
The last day, we had to get the house ready... load the dishwasher, strip the beds, and wash the towels and make sure they were in the dryer. Here's one last look at our home for a week...
We had 4 floors in the house with 6 flights of stairs.
There was an elevator, but we decided we needed the exercise!
We were sad to leave the beach and go home, but we were all a bit tired...
Good
Bye
Paradise!!
