playroom

playroom before....

playroom after...

This is a neat airplane propeller hook that I hung behind the door.  I got it from my aunt Carol, and this is the perfect spot for it.

I don't have everything on the walls that I want, and my after pictures were probably too close. So you can't see as much of the room, but it'll have to do for now.  When I add more, I'll have to re-post.  I am so happy to have the hard part done- paint.  Now, I can collect the fun things for his walls as I find them.

Show Us Where you live Friday! - THE OFFICE

Well, my office has been turned into a scrapbook/guest room so we could make room for a playroom... which is NOT finished- just full of TOYS!

Since we've gotten the laptop, we have enjoyed being able to sit in the living room or bedroom with the family while we are on the computer. Don't you just love modern technology?
So, THIS is a picture of my office.

Of course, I usually have a Diet Dr. Pepper to drink.

My evening office area.

What's a tour w/o a pic of Carson?

Sorry, I don't have a room to show, but we have loved not having to have a room for the office. We have a wireless printer in the guest bedroom closet, and our supplies are organized in there also.  It give us another room in the house to use for other things.

Have a great weekend!

Show Us Where you live Friday! - Children's Rooms/Nurseries

Well, it's on with the tour over at Kelly's Korner. I absolutely LOVE Carson's room. We spent so much time planning and buying everything that we wanted to put in his room. His crib has been converted into this full bed. We had a very cute Pottery Barn crib/bumper set. I found this great bed spread and sheet set which is very similar to it and it goes perfectly with his room. Grandma Anne made the red blanket on the bed... one of many she has made for Carson.
I bought this picture at Target.  I wanted the one at Pottery Barn, but it was $99.  I found this for $40 at Target!  What a great buy!
His nightstand was purchased at Wood You, and Daddy painted it red.
Daddy made the navy cubes below.  I wanted something with a large opening that would hold his large picture books.  Needless to say, I'm a teacher and he has a lot of books.  The books you see aren't all of them.
Pails were on sale at Pottery Barn! (I just love that store.)
This armoire matches his headboard/crib.
Love his glass jars with cars and blocks in them.  Notice his name is spelled with the blocks.
His closet door- Daddy has put shelving in the closet so we can hold more toys, but it is a scary sight!
We bought the old fashioned wood truck at Apple Butter Makin' Days when I was pregnant.  We thought it would go perfectly with his nursery.  The Texaco bank was a fun find for his theme also.  Grandma Pat bought him the little boy statue which is holding a toy plane- one of his favorite things.

We had so much fun doing his room.  After waiting 8 years to be able to decorate a nursery, we just had the time of our lives doing it.  Now that he's growing up, the changing table and rocker are gone- but I think the transition to big boy room was easy with the choices we tried to make so he could grow with it.  There are, of course, other things I would like to do with some of the blank spaces on the walls, but it will get done eventually.  Now the play room is a whole other story... definitely a project for this summer!

Show Us Where you live Friday! - GUEST ROOM

It's Friday again, and Kelly's Korner is touring homes- guest rooms. My guest room is a guest room/scrapbook room. We took the headboard down so I could have enough room to put up tables to scrapbook when I want. We have plans to put a beautiful murphy bed with shelves on either side that fills the whole wall and will be the color of our cream trim, but until then, the bed is in the corner.

This is my scrapbooking corner... Its organized somewhat.  I need to work on it more when I'm home this summer.
The bookshelf with my Cricut on the top shelf.
Love my Cricut!
Here is a page I created on a scrapbook weekend of Easter '08.
Carson thought I needed a picture of him on the "bog." (As he calls it.)

We'll it's pretty simple and plain, but that is our guest room.  Thanks for stopping by!

Show Us Where you live Friday! - LIVING ROOMS

Kelly's Korner is having a tour of homes on her blog, and I decided to join. I toured through all of the kitchens last week, and I'm excited to see living rooms this week.

This is my living room. I really like it; I just wish I had vaulted ceilings.

This is my wall of pictures devoted to our pride and joy.  The pics on the floor need to be put up in the kitchen to the right.

I'm also not a big fan of the ceiling fan.  It seems to really bring the ceiling down.

I love this tile of Carson's feet!

This is the view from the living room to the front door - the "foyer."
Hope you enjoyed the tour!
