the tooth fairy strikes again!

Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10:00 p.m. Carson Eric Sallee lost his FIRST tooth!

Before I share what happened, there's a little back story.  Carson has had a loose bottom tooth for a few weeks now.
I was watching The View on Monday, and Elisabeth Hasselback had mentioned that the tooth fairy forgot to come to their house the night before.  Whoopie G. stated that she knew the tooth fairy, and she knew that Grace (Elisabeth's daughter) had been pulling pretty hard on the tooth and forced it to come out.  She also knew that if kids forced teeth out before they were ready that their names didn't appear in the Tooth Fairy's book right away and that is probably why she didn't come yet.

Carson looked up at me after hearing this and said, "Oh, we better not force this tooth out."
HA!  Is that not the cutest thing??????

On Monday night...
He was brushing his teeth and noticed that when he spit, it was a little bloody.
Then he looked in the mirror, and gasped.. "My tooth came out!"
Sure enough, it was in the sink and there was a big hole in his bottom teeth.

I had bought this pillow at the Mt. Vernon Apple Butter Makin' Days when he was just a baby.  I was sure it would be a long time before we would use it.  It has been hanging on his door knob.  And I can't believe the time is already here, but it was perfect.

We placed the tooth in a snack size baggy, and slid it into the pocket.

Say Cheese!!

Of course, we had to call the grandparents.

He wanted to make sure that the tooth was sticking out a little, just so the tooth fairy would see it.
We had already discussed that the tooth fairy brings a little more for the 1st and last tooth.  So he's prepared to not get as much for his other teeth.  We placed it on his night stand next to his bed.  He was very willing to go to sleep in his bed on this night.

The next morning, we found 5 ~ 1 dollar bills in the tooth pocket.  And the tooth was gone.
We were very happy the tooth fairy did not forget to come and his name appeared in her book!

C-a-r-s-o-n, a smart little stinker

This morning as I was leaving for work, Carson decided to wave goodbye to me at the door. He usually likes to "push the button" for the garage door, but has seen spider webs there lately so is a little unsure about doing it. I told him I would help him and make sure there were no spider webs. Then I said to mom, "He doesn't like to do it b/c he saw a s-p-i-d-e-r by the button." (I spelled spider.) Then Carson said, "That spells spider." I know he can't really spell spider, but he was smart enough to figure it out.

Later today, Grandpa had come to watch him. He wanted Grandpa to go into the office bed to play with him. Grandpa said that he'd rather stay in the living room and play. Carson let it go and didn't say anything else... A few minutes later, Carson said, "Let's play follow the leader." So, Grandpa got up and began playing Follow the Leader with him. Where did they end up? In the office... That little stinker figured out how to outsmart Grandpa and get him into the office anyway!

Tomorrow is the first official day of school. I am feeling better and more ready to start the year. Once I get into full swing, I know I'll be fine. The first few weeks are always hard b/c the new class must learn procedures and expectations for 4th grade. I've met my class, and they seem very sweet. I think it'll be a great school year with a super group of kids.

can i just say?

Carson had quite a day of quotes today! All too cute - so I must share.

Momma: Carson, please don't throw the pillow on the floor.
Carson: Whateva (Whatever)
Momma: Don't whatever me, I don't want to keep picking these up.
Carson: I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.

Carson: When I was little, did I call Coys R'Us - Coys R'Us?
Momma: I guess you did- (since he just did- ha!)

Carson was playing on the slide at the park and a little girl (about 7 or 8) was sliding down next to him on a side by side slide. I didn't see what happened but I don't think she was being kind.
Carson comes running over and yells, "She's being mean to me." Then he turns around and yells at her, "I don't love you, You crazy woman!"
Oh my goodness, what a boy.

Can I just say? I HATE PAINTING!!! More than painting, I hate the mess that goes with it. I'll be so glad to finally get all of this done. I taped and started trimming tonight. How often do you move your bed to dust behind it? Apparently, I don't. That was a job, let me tell ya. The armoire is almost ready for its last coat of paint (still 3 clear coats to do), and we hope to finish the room tomorrow. I have a new comforter, pillows, lamps and shades. We'll have a new bedroom when we're done. I plan to get a new mattress and a few things for decoration. Also I want to get some things for the bathroom to coordinate, but all in good time. My pocketbook can only handle it in doses! Did I mention? I HATE PAINTING!!

Fishes Don't Have Belly Button Lint

As I ironed my clothes in the next room, I heard Carson talking to his daddy in the shower. "Fishes don't have belly button lint," were Carson's words that made me smile and made my heart melt.  I wonder about the paths his brain takes in order to come up with some of his funny little remarks, but they are, oh, so precious.  He is such a wonderful boy.

We decided to go to Branson this afternoon.  We spent most of our time at the Landing.  Carson loved playing on the slide by The Wharf.
We walked the by the lake, played at the playground, shopped, ate at the Mexican restaurant, ate Ben & Jerry's ice cream, rode the trolley...
... and spent way too much money at the GAP at Tanger mall (even though we got some really good deals).  The kids Gap seems like it has a lot more merchandise than it used to.

After our long day, Carson was out like a light.  I am thankful everyday for my miracle.

Church Snacks Okay

We visited the church today that we visited last Sunday.  Last Sunday, when I checked Carson in, I forgot to check the box on his name tag that said he could have a church snack. (Church snacks okay)  So, the first thing he said to me was, "Why didn't I get a snack?"

So this Sunday, I made sure to check the box.  He was very concerned about this and a little unsure if he wanted to go back.  This no snack experience was not a good one for him.  So I told him once again that I checked the box.  He was ready to go back and give it another try.

I watched him as they took him into his room.  He didn't know I was watching.  The first thing he said to the lady was, "I can have a snack today.  My mom checked the box."

Conversations with a 3 year old

Carson:  Why do some people not have little boys?

Momma:  Because when God puts babies in Mommas' bellies, sometimes He puts a boy and sometimes He puts a girl.

Carson:  Who is God?  (We usually talk about Jesus.)

Momma:  He is Jesus' dad.  He made the earth.

Carson:  But, who is he?

Momma:  He is like a great big, nice daddy.

Carson:  (Pause- some deep thought)  Ohhhhh.
